Got more test ideas than time? Answer ten quick yes/no questions per idea and you get a ranked list. Ideas backed by real evidence float to the top; hunches sink.
The scoring is PXL, a framework CXL published for everyone to use. You don’t need to know it to use this tool.
Your ranked backlog
Saved in this browser only. A high PXL score ranks a hypothesis for testing; it does not predict a win.
How scoring works
Most questions are yes (1) or no (0). Noticeability and add/remove score 2 or 0 because bigger, visible changes tend to have more impact. Ease is bracketed by build time: under 4 hours = 3, up to 8 hours = 2, under 2 days = 1, more = 0. The maximum is 14. The criteria follow CXL’s published PXL template.
Use it well
- Bring evidence. Four of the ten questions ask what research found. Ideas from opinion alone score low, by design.
- Have a developer estimate ease. Estimates are more honest when the builder makes them.
- Customize when needed. CXL recommends adding criteria that matter to your business, such as brand fit or SEO risk.
- A score is not a forecast. It ranks what to test first; only the test tells you what works.
